Is It Going To Be Sensational? HTC's Dual-Core "SENSATION" On Its Way. "EVO 3D", "Incredible S" Too.5/17/2011 Well, in the world where iPhone & Galaxy S seems to be dominating, I think we need something sensational, something different. HTC, especially HTC Korea hasn't brought anything special since its flagship model - Desire(There was Desire HD but it got some issues too), and now they seem like they have decided to bring something HUGE. Sensation was formerly known as its code name, Pyramid, and it comes with Gingerbread(Android 2.3), 1.2Ghz Dual-core Snapdragon Processor, 4.3-inch Super LCD display, 8MP rear camera, front camera and Sense 3.0 interface. 1080p HD video recording is available and you can customize your own lock lock screen with clock or weather or camera widgets and icons. Although it has come with impressive innovation, it is thicker and heavier than brand new smart phones like Galaxy S2. HTC has announced that it will come out in this month and only to SKT. EVO 3D is expected to come to KT only and the release date is not announced yet. its specifications are similar to Sensation but the MP of its rear camera will be lower. However, it can take 3D photo/videos and you can watch it without 3D glasses, and you can even upload them on YouTube 3D. Incredible S is the successor of Incredible, and it will be released in May also. No carriers decided yet.

As Apple iPhone 5 is getting ready for its global launching, Samsung has decided to bring the next model of its Android smartphone line of Galaxy S, Galaxy S 2 to South Korea in last April. This time, the scale has become bigger. It is coming by the three mobile carriers - SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+. Samsung Galaxy S 2 powered by Google Android Its Android OS version will be 2.3, Gingerbread and its display is known as "4.27-inch Super AMOLED Plus". I wasn't a big fan of Galaxy S but its Super AMOLED screen was absolutely stunning. Now it's coming with "Plus", so I can't wait to see this bright sexy thing. Also, the device has got thinner than the previous model by 1.4mm and 8.49mm is one of the slimmest smartphones. Samsung and SKT had a close relation but it got broken when SKT also decided to bring iPhone 4. Now, iPhone 4 is coming by both SKT & KT and SKT won't support Galaxy S as much as they used to. I am pretty sure that Samsung has enough cash to advertise Galaxy S 2 on TV or everywhere but with less help of SKT, the biggest mobile carrier in Korea, I don't know how many device activation Samsung will get. The activation number of the previous Galaxy S in South Korea is 2.8 million so far. Samsung's smartphone 'Wave 2' has been released in the Korean domestic market from the 7th. Wave 2 carries Samsung's original mobile OS called Bada (it means "sea" in Korean). One of its features is that the size of its icons is much bigger than that of icons in Android devices or iPhone. Another feature is Social Hub, which was developed by Samsung. You can manage your SNS (Social Network Service) accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and your email accounts like Gmail, or Hotmail in this application..and texts, contacts, schedules too!!! Like Android devices, you can use widgets, so you can check the Facebook news feeds on the main screen. Wave 2 also contains Samsung Apps which is just like Android Market or App Store. It's a slim, streamlined metal body and the 5.0 mega pixel camera and flash has a diamond shape and it gives uniqueness. Its 3.7-inch Super Clear LCD screen looks ideal and you can use an external memory card up to 32GB. The price without contract is about KRW 700,000 (USD 633) and with 2-year contract, you can get it at about KRW 100,000 (USD 90). |
