If you can see Seoul Forest and the Han River from your bedroom, isn't that enough? The penthouses of Galleria Forêt can be purchased for KRW 5.2 billion (USD 4.8 million) and the ones designed by Jean Nouvel cost KRW 5.7 billion (USD 5.3 million). The exterior & roof construction is almost finished and the official moving day will be someday in June. Forêt The Mall also opens in June and many luxurious furniture & interior brands will open here. FYI, Hyundai is planning to build its GBC (Global Business Center) on the next block.

The exteriors of the top floors of One IFC & Conrad Seoul are almost finished and the main tower, Three IFC seems to be catching up. However, the Parc1 project on the adjacent block had started before the IFC Seoul project but it stays still as it is going through a huge lawsuit against the landowner - the Unification Church. Parc1 will be the tallest complex in Yeouido if it is finished.
Lotte World 2 Shopping Complex got finally approved in last November, and since then what has happened? The setting-out has been ready for 16 years, but now they seem to be doing excavation and pile-driving. Considering how massive the whole complex is, I think it is going to take a while to finish the entire construction. Let me tell you some brief information about Lotte World 2 & Lotte Super Tower 123. As you probably know, it is located right across the original Lotte World Complex in Jamsil. Lotte World 2 consists of 7 low-rise buildings and Super Tower. When it is all completed, it will be the world's 6th largest shopping complex (It will be slightly smaller than the Dubai Mall). Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, and many other cultural facilities will be included. Lotte Super Tower 123 has 123 levels as you may have expected and its height will be 555m. Lotte Hotel, premium offices, observation decks and a sky lounge will be the main tenants. There were a lot of conflicts about the construction of this complex, but as they have decided to build this, I hope everything will be fine from now on.
We all know that at some point Yongsan will be the center of Seoul (geographically it already is). Well, it seems like Mirae Asset Group will bring that future a little bit closer to us. Mirae Asset will invest KRW 230 billion (USD 211 million) to Yongsan International Business District (or Dream Hub) and build a hotel facility. It will be using 21 levels of Landmark Hotel Tower (69 levels) and will have about 400 guest rooms. Expected candidates are Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, Park Hyatt, W and Shangri-La but the rumor says it will be either Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental. On the top levels of the tower, 200 rooms will be operated as VVIP hotel residences. Personally, I think Mirae Asset has made a brilliant decision, as Yongsan Station will be the hub of 15 railways including KTX, Airport Railroad and Yongsan Cruise Terminal will be connected to Dream Hub.
Once they start it, it goes like crazy. I remember that in February this huge complex was just structures of steel beams, but now it looks like a giant shopping complex. The twin residential building were constructed a while ago, but the cylindrical main tower - offices (Level 9 - 26) & Sheraton Seoul D-Cube City Hotel (Level 27 - 42) - looks quite impressive. The exterior of the central Art Center seems like it's almost done. But my favorite part is D-Cube hills, in which many brand shops and a department store will be located. It will be directly connected to Sindorim Station (Busiest station in Seoul) and with Sindorim Techno Mart, it will be able to attract many shoppers and maybe create a huge shopping area. I just hope that D-Cube Department Store has some unique differentiators as there are already successful stores like Shinsegae Times Square & Hyundai Mokdong. Oh, just you know, the whole complex will open in August.
Now five months are left until the second exhibition hall of KINTEX opens. It is expected to open on September 22, and it will be Asia's 4th biggest convention center. The top 3 are in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
